tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"false\"><p>La piste nous a berc\u00e9es d\u2019images r\u00e9p\u00e9titives et fabuleuses. Ces images, on peut les faire d\u00e9filer sans l\u00e9gende, les faire revenir et les coller comme des siamois ou les d\u00e9sunir \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re des acrobates apr\u00e8s leur num\u00e9ro. Sur une table, elles seraient un jeu de cartes jet\u00e9 au hasard, mais retombant avec pr\u00e9cision. Elles se d\u00e9veloppent dans la chambre noire de la m\u00e9moire. Comme si le cirque contenait en lui des n\u00e9gatifs perdus, une s\u00e9rie d\u2019illuminations ou d\u2019\u00e9piphanies fluorescentes.<\/p><p>Le tirage \u00e9merveill\u00e9 de toute cette f\u00e9erie, on le trouve dans les photographies de Tina Merandon. Elle a vite saisi que de simples clich\u00e9s de reportage ne suffiraient pas \u00e0 capter ce mouvement perp\u00e9tuel des formes. Elle sait bien l\u2019image-magique existe en elle-m\u00eame, que la fragile toile du chapiteau tient dans sa membrane les ombres chinoises de tous les artistes de la piste.<\/p><p>De mani\u00e8re magistrale, elle laisse venir \u00e0 nous ces silhouettes blanches. Elle nous les montre flottantes dans l\u2019h\u00e9lium, a\u00e9riennes ou inqui\u00e9tantes, toujours prises dans la beaut\u00e9 d\u2019un geste. Les photographies de Tina Merandon ont ceci en propre qu\u2019elles d\u00e9coupent les corps sur des fonds noirs de graphite scintillant. Parfois, l\u2019\u00e9cuy\u00e8re ou le voltigeur sont surexpos\u00e9s, au danger comme \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re. Puis il y a les monstres venus des contr\u00e9es les plus recul\u00e9es du r\u00eave, l\u2019homme volant et le clown flamme, l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phant et la jeune fille, et encore la femme-n\u00e9nuphar d\u00e9pliant son ombrelle au-dessus du vide, retenue d\u2019un fil \u00e0 la pesanteur du monde.<\/p><p>Toutes ces images nous regardent, nous et notre enfance, nous et l\u2019inqui\u00e9tante \u00e9tranget\u00e9 de tout ce qui est vivant, elles sont le r\u00e9el, enfin photographi\u00e9.<\/p><p>Yan Ciret 1999<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-9782\" aria-expanded=\"false\">The Ghosts of Light 1994 - 1999 (Texts in English)<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-9782\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-9782\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>The dance floor has lulled us with repetitive and fabulous images. These images, we can scroll them without a caption, make them come back and stick them together like Siamese twins or disunite them like acrobats after their act. On a table, they would be a deck of cards thrown at random, but falling back with precision. They develop in the darkroom of memory. As if the circus contained within it lost negatives, a series of illuminations or fluorescent epiphanies.<\/p><p>The marvelous print of all this enchantment is found in the photographs of Tina Merandon. She quickly understood that simple reportage shots would not be enough to capture this perpetual movement of forms. She knows that the magical image exists within itself, that the fragile canvas of the big top holds in its membrane the shadowy figures of all the artists in the ring.<\/p><p>In a masterly way, she lets these white silhouettes come to us. She shows them floating in helium, aerial or disturbing, always caught in the beauty of a gesture. Tina Merandon&#8217;s photographs have the particularity of cutting out the bodies on black backgrounds of glittering graphite. Sometimes, the horsewoman or the acrobat are overexposed, to danger as well as to light. Then there are the monsters coming from the most remote regions of the dream, the flying man and the flame clown, the elephant and the young girl, and the water lily woman unfolding her parasol above the void, held by a thread to the gravity of the world.<\/p><p>All these images look at us, us and our childhood, us and the disturbing strangeness of all that is alive, they are the real, finally Sur une table, elles seraient un jeu de cartes jet\u00e9 au hasard, mais retombant avec pr\u00e9cision. Elles se d\u00e9veloppent dans la chambre noire de la m\u00e9moire. Comme si le cirque contenait en lui des n\u00e9gatifs perdus, une s\u00e9rie d\u2019illuminations ou d\u2019\u00e9piphanies fluorescentes. Le tirage \u00e9merveill\u00e9 de toute cette f\u00e9erie, on le trouve dans les photographies de Tina Merandon. Elle a vite saisi que de simples clich\u00e9s de reportage ne suffiraient pas \u00e0 capter ce mouvement perp\u00e9tuel des formes. Elle sait bien l\u2019image-magique existe en elle-m\u00eame, que la fragile toile du chapiteau tient dans sa membrane les ombres chinoises de tous les artistes de la piste. De mani\u00e8re magistrale, elle laisse venir \u00e0 nous ces silhouettes blanches. Elle nous les montre flottantes dans l\u2019h\u00e9lium, a\u00e9riennes ou inqui\u00e9tantes, toujours prises dans la beaut\u00e9 d\u2019un geste. Les photographies de Tina Merandon ont ceci en propre qu\u2019elles d\u00e9coupent les corps sur des fonds noirs de graphite scintillant. Parfois, l\u2019\u00e9cuy\u00e8re ou le voltigeur sont surexpos\u00e9s, au danger comme \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re. Puis il y a les monstres venus des contr\u00e9es les plus recul\u00e9es du r\u00eave, l\u2019homme volant et le clown flamme, l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phant et la jeune fille, et encore la femme-n\u00e9nuphar d\u00e9pliant son ombrelle au-dessus du vide, retenue d\u2019un fil \u00e0 la pesanteur du monde. On a table, they would be a deck of cards thrown at random, but falling back with precision. They develop in the darkroom of memory. As if the circus contained within it lost negatives, a series of illuminations or fluorescent epiphanies. The marvelous print of all this enchantment is found in the photographs of Tina Merandon. She quickly understood that simple reportage shots would not be enough to capture this perpetual movement of forms. She knows that the magical image exists within itself, that the fragile canvas of the big top holds in its membrane the shadowy figures of all the artists in the ring. In a masterly way, she lets these white silhouettes come to us. She shows them floating in helium, aerial or disturbing, always caught in the beauty of a gesture. Tina Merandon&#8217;s photographs have the particularity of cutting out the bodies on black backgrounds of glittering graphite. Sometimes, the horsewoman or the acrobat are overexposed, to danger as well as to light. Then there are the monsters coming from the most remote regions of the dream, the flying man and the flame clown, the elephant and the young girl, and the water lily woman unfolding her parasol above the void, held by a thread to the gravity of the world. All these images look at us, us and our childhood, us and the disturbing strangeness of all that is alive, they are the real, finally photographed.
