Manifesto Paris, en r\u00e9sidence au CENTQUATRE-PARIS en octobre 2017. C\u2019est une collaboration, un double portrait. Ce portrait se fait en duo et en deux temps. Le ou la participante de PLACE (organisme qui a pour but d\u2019ins\u00e9rer les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s dans le monde du travail) intervient directement sur le portrait fait par la photographe. Il utilise des m\u00e9diums divers et transforme son portrait. Pots de peinture, craies, pastels, d\u00e9coupages et des collages. Il utilise \u00e9galement le verbe et les graffitis. Il am\u00e8ne ses propres objets pour les ins\u00e9rer dans le tirage.<\/p><p>L\u2019alt\u00e9rit\u00e9, ce face-\u00e0-face nous renvoie \u00e0 ce qui est autre, \u00e0 ce qui est ext\u00e9rieur \u00e0 un \u00ab soi \u00bb, \u00e0 une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence, qu\u2019elle soit culturelle, artistique ou ethnologique. Chacun fait \u00ab entendre sa voix \u00bb par le biais de l\u2019\u00e9criture picturale en s\u2019appuyant sur des traditions, des histoires et des philosophies diff\u00e9rentes, mais ces \u0153uvres ne se laissent pas \u00e9valuer \u00e0 l\u2019aune de l\u2019art contemporain malgr\u00e9 leur totale actualit\u00e9. Leurs qualit\u00e9s artistiques sont l\u00e0 o\u00f9 on ne les attend pas, se refusant \u00e0 se plier aux codes \u00e9tablis. Le vernaculaire se m\u00ealant aux standards plan\u00e9taires. Ces \u0153uvres sont authentiques, ces portraits uniques de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s nous parlent de communaut\u00e9 de destin, mais aussi d\u2019histoires individuelles. Ce regard, arr\u00eat\u00e9 entre le pass\u00e9 et le futur, raconte d\u2019une mani\u00e8re intime, l\u2019exil.<\/p><p>Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une collaboration, construire des ponts entre les individus pour le vivre-ensemble, l\u2019enrichissement culturel, d\u00e9construire les pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s sur les migrants.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-6632\" aria-expanded=\"false\">PLACE 2017-2018 (Texts in English)<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-6632\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-6632\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>These portraits are an assignment from Manifesto Paris, in residence at CENTQUATRE-PARIS in October 2017. It is a collaboration, a double portrait. This portrait is done in duo and in two times. The participant of PLACE (an organization that aims to insert refugees into the world of work) intervenes directly in the portrait made by the photographer. He or she uses various mediums and transforms the portrait. Pots of paint, chalk, pastels, cut-outs, and collages. He also uses words and graffiti. He brings his objects to insert them into the print.<\/p><p>The otherness, this face-to-face refers us to what is other, to what is external to a &#8220;self&#8221;, to a reality of reference, whether it is cultural, artistic, or ethnological. Each one makes &#8220;hear its voice&#8221; by the means of the pictorial writing by leaning on traditions, histories, and different philosophies, but these works do not allow themselves to be evaluated by the yardstick of the contemporary art despite their total topicality. Their artistic qualities are there where we do not expect them, refusing to bend to established codes. The vernacular mingle with global standards. These works are authentic, these unique portraits of refugees speak to us of a community of destiny, but also of individual stories. I have been here for almost two years now but by far, its the craziest<br \/>two years ever, all my life experience and knowledge have been put in test. The culture, people and life style is different from what I lived or encountered before but never the less, very exciting. Being in nature, or even viewing scenes<br \/>of nature, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes me feel better emotionally, it contributes to my physical wellbeing.<\/p><p>In France, I had the opportunity to discover more about nature, changing from depressed, stressed, and anxious to more calm and balanced. In addition nature helps me cope with pain. During my work on this portrait, I tried my best to find ways, tools and ability to express my feelings when I\u2019m in the nature. Je le vois comme une sorte de mutation h\u00e9rit\u00e9e de mes origines, et avec laquelle j\u2019ai v\u00e9cu depuis mon enfance. Ma m\u00e9tamorphose ne s\u2019est pas faite dans mon corps, mais dans ma vision du monde. La terre \u00e9trang\u00e8re, souvent consid\u00e9r\u00e9e par l\u2019\u00eatre exil\u00e9 comme un \u00e9l\u00e9ment inconnu, \u00e9trange et symbole de terreur constante, n\u2019a pas eu la m\u00eame signification pour moi. J\u2019ai travers\u00e9 cet intervalle, ce passage in\u00e9luctable d\u2019un \u00e9tat \u00e0 l\u2019autre, en essayant d\u2019ouvrir mon esprit et d\u2019accepter ce nouveau monde tel qu\u2019il \u00e9tait. Sans vouloir le transformer, sans chercher \u00e0 le remplacer par le monde auquel j\u2019appartenais. J\u2019ai choisi d\u2019en faire partie et d\u2019\u00e9voluer avec lui. Usually as the<br \/>Sudanese women take care of her family and<br \/>her house also do not forget to take care of<br \/>herself as well.<\/p><p>In this photo I wanted to show what the women wear during a traditionnal wedding. It\u2019s a mix of color and style . They show their feminity specialy during the wedding ceremony. They have a unique traditionnal dress. The colors are very bright and glattering, shinning, happy. She doesn\u2019t forget to style her hair in traditional way as well as wearing a traditional jewerley, neckless and hearings , nose ring and traditionnal henna common in big cities and countryside . A flacon on the left side of the picture is special for ceremony of wedding and the house. It\u2019s basis with a lot of santal. And on the right, homemade unique traditional perfumes for the body.<\/p><p>From my point of view as a doctor, all what the women used to do, bring the good mood and avoid depression<\/p><p>\u00abHere, it\u2019s an another world !\u00bb<\/p><p>I wanted to reflect also the generosity and sociabity of the women.<br \/>For exemple, normaly, the wedding is from one week to one month, and the guests are not less then one thousand of people. (relatives, friends, neighbors\u2026 etc). During this period you well see and feel the very strong social relationship of a Sudanese people. In Soudan its\u2019 not formal forbidden to represent the human body but somebody can come at home and destroy it. It\u2019s forbidden in islam religion. Ce regard, arr\u00eat\u00e9 entre le pass\u00e9 et le futur, raconte d\u2019une mani\u00e8re intime, l\u2019exil. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une collaboration, construire des ponts entre les individus pour le vivre-ensemble, l\u2019enrichissement culturel, d\u00e9construire les pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s sur les migrants. PLACE 2017-2018 (Texts in English) These portraits are an assignment from Manifesto Paris, in residence at CENTQUATRE-PARIS in October 2017. It is a collaboration, a double portrait. This portrait is done in duo and in two times. The participant of PLACE (an organization that aims to insert refugees into the world of work) intervenes directly in the portrait made by the photographer. He or she uses various mediums and transforms the portrait. Pots of paint, chalk, pastels, cut-outs, and collages. He also uses words and graffiti. He brings his objects to insert them into the print. The otherness, this face-to-face refers us to what is other, to what is external to a &#8220;self&#8221;, to a reality of reference, whether it is cultural, artistic, or ethnological. Each one makes &#8220;hear its voice&#8221; by the means of the pictorial writing by leaning on traditions, histories, and different philosophies, but these works do not allow themselves to be evaluated by the yardstick of the contemporary art despite their total topicality. Their artistic qualities are there where we do not expect them, refusing to bend to established codes. The vernacular mingle with global standards. These works are authentic, these unique portraits of refugees speak to us of a community of destiny, but also of individual stories. This look stopped between the past and the future, tells intimately, the exile. It is a collaboration, building bridges between individuals for living together, cultural enrichment, deconstructing prejudices about migrants. \u00ab It was a nice exp\u00e9rience, dreams now succeed \u00bb For a very short time, I am a princess wearing a laurel wreath. In the real life, things are not so easy. Being in nature, or even viewing scenesof nature, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes me feel better emotionally, it contributes to my physical wellbeing. In France, I had the opportunity to discover more about nature, changing from depressed, stressed, and anxious to more calm and balanced. In addition nature helps me cope with pain. During my work on this portrait, I tried my best to find ways, tools and ability to express my feelings when I\u2019m in the nature. It is the feeling of bliss that washes over me when I \u201cget away from it all\u201d. \u00abNothing is impossible when the humanwill exist. I was feeling free and I explain my goal in a sensation way .\u00bb \u00abThe heart is green\u00bb On my portrait, on my chest, I represent a green heart that radiates. This color symbolizes for me the power and the will. If the outside world is hostile, I close my eyes and my green heart recharges its batteries.
